Michaela Meise

Kleiner Block (2006)

Berlin-based artist Michaela Meise, born in Hanau in 1976, studied with Urs Lüthi at the Kunsthochschule Kassel between 1996 and 2000 and with Ayse Erkem at the Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main from 2000 to 2003. Her artistic practice is characterized by a sparse yet at the same time poetic vocabulary of forms and materials, embedded in a broad network of references. Meise works in various media such as sculpture, installation, drawing, painting and performance.

For the "Young Edition" series of "Texte zur Kunst" Meise produced a two part object, made of wood, wood stain and synthetic enamel with the title "Kleiner Block". It measures 12,5 x 12,5 x 3 cm and is available in an edition of 50 + 10 APs. It is accompanied with a signed and numbered certificate and costs 245,- Euro plus shipping.
