Celebration Ghost (2006)

Pierre Huyghe, born 1962, lives and works in Paris. He studied at "École superieur des arts décoratifs" in Paris and by now surely is one of the best known French artists. Lately his oeuvre was honored by a solo exhibition at Musée d'Art moderne de la ville de Paris. Over the last years Huyghe has been presenting his work in a great number of international exhibitions and in renowned museums, such as the 2001 Venice Biennial, representing France, the documenta 11 in 2002 and the Guggenheim Museum New York in 2003. Soon his complex installations, films, photographs and forays in the aesthetics of computer games, in which he analyses the cultural conditions of perception and processes of cognition will be shown in a major show at the Tate Modern in London.

For "Texte zur Kunst" Pierre Huyghe has developed a conceptual piece aiming at the future engagement of its owner: The edition is entitled "Celebration Ghost", 2006 and consists of a elaborately designed package of white pumkin seeds, directly imported from the US. The package measures 9 x 12 cm and is accompagnied by a numbered and stamped certificate. The work is available in an edition of 100 + 20 AP's and costs 245,- EUR plus shipping.
