Zoe Leonard, "Dynamite" (2002)

Zoe Leonard

Dynamite (2002)

The New York artist ZOE LEONARD, born 1961, is working in different media like photography, film, sculpture and installation. First she established black-and-white-photography as her prin-ciple artistic medium, later she also used colour photography. She does not follow a specific photographical tradition, but is combining formal aspects and subject matter, poetics and politics in her own observatory way. Since the eighties she is highly engaged in political and feminist activism, which does have a significant influence on her artistic approach. In the nineties she began with an ongoing, diary-like project of memory and grief, called "Strange fruit", in which she stitched fruit skins with colourful wires, zippers and buttons.

Zoe Leonards edition for Texte zur Kunst is a black-and-white-photograph entitled "Dynamite" , 2002 (25,4 x 20,3 cm) and is signed and numbered on the back. It is an edition of 100 + 10 ap's. It costs EUR 245,- + shipping and handling.
