Roman Signer, "Versuch In Der Garage" (2004)

Roman Signer

Versuch In Der Garage (2004)

Since the 1970s, Roman Signer has been established as an important artist in the contemporary European art world. He was born in 1938 in Appenzell, Switzerland, and today lives in St. Gallen. His oeuvre consists of sculptures, installations, water objects, super-8 films and rather spectacular happenings. One of his goals is to extend and redefine the notion of sculpture by including the factor time and from that movement, acceleration and change into the sculptural process. Therefore, the time phases, the preparation of an happening, the process - often an explosion or another transformation - all become part of an artistic unit. His actions are rarely without humour.

For Texte zur Kunst, Roman Signer made a photograph with the title "Versuch in der Garage" [Experiment in the garage]. It measures 18 x 24 cm and is signed and numbered on the back. It is an edition of 100 + 10 AP's and costs 245.00 Euros + shipping.
