Albert Oehlen, "Ohne Titel" (2004)

Albert Oehlen

Ohne Titel (2004)

Since the Seventies, Albert Oehlen belongs to those artists who internationally renowned for finding a new definition of painting. In the Eighties, he was one of the 'enfants terribles' of the artsscene, together with Werner Büttner, Georg Herold and Martin Kippenberger. The artistic strategy of the artist, born 1954 in Krefeld/Germany and today living in Cologne and La Palma, is deconstruction of the classical concept of painting, and at the same time he wants to challenge bourgeois value systems. His characteristics are heterogeneous compositions of different layers of figurative or abstract elements as well as of text fragments/slogans. As a contrast to his painting in oil, he has, since the Nineties, developed more and more computer generated collages.

For Texte zur Kunst, Albert Oehlen has created a collage. The photography from this collage will be the edition "No title", (2004). The size is 31 x 28 cm and it is numbered and signed on the back. It is an edition of 120 + 10 ap's and costs 245. - Euros plus shipping.
