Andreas Slominski, "Ohne Titel" (2004)

Andreas Slominski

Ohne Titel (2004)

The work of Andreas Slominski is characterized on the one hand by a serious and conceptional approach, on the other hand they live from ludic, humorous and absurd ulterior motives. The artist, born 1959 in Meppen/Germany follows his "trappingconcept" since the Nineties. His "traps" are taken from the everyday world and range between sculpture and functional object, but they are always meant to operate metaphorically or as models/prototypes. His installations and often eccentric actions and interventions are programmatic for his oeuvre and show his special sense for subtle perceptions and hidden structures.

For Texte zur Kunst, Andreas Slominski had the following idea: He gives you the opportunity to send us a blouse or a shirt chosen by you. He will cut off all the buttons and will have them stitched together again. Then we will send you your blouse/ shirt back with a stitched and numbered label on it. The edition "No title" (2004) is an edition of 100 + 10 ap's and costs 245.- euros plus shipping.
