TZK Block, 2008

Jörg Sasse

TZK Block (2008)

Trained in the renowned and influential class of the Bechers at the art academy Düsseldorf, where he studied between 1982 and 1988, JÖRG SASSE soon established a reputation as one of the leading photographers of this generation. His images are works after photographs. They display subtle variations from reality und question the perception of the real. Objects of everyday life, urban architectures, landscapes and interior settings are arranged in a manner reminiscent of still lives. Since 2003 Sasse, who lives in Berlin and Düsseldorf, is professor for documentary photography at the Universität Duisburg Essen. In 2006 he received the prestigious “Epson art photo award” for the best class. Recent solo exhibitions include shows at the Museum Kunstpalast in Düsseldorf (2007), at the Kunstverein Hannover (2006) and the Kunstmuseum Bonn (2005). Jörg Sasse is represented by Galerie Wilma Tolksdorf Frankfurt/Berlin and Galerie Nächst St. Stephan, Wien.

For „Texte zur Kunst“ Jörg Sasse has developed a series of photographs entitled „TZK-Block“, 2008. Each of the four motifs comes in a passepartout and measures 26 x 36 cm (with an image size of 17 x 24 cm). Each piece is signed and numbered on the back. The works comes in an edition of 100 + 20 APs. Each motif costs 245,- Euro plus shipping.
