Apple Multiple, 2008

Rachel Harrison

Apple Multiple (2008)

US-American artist RACHEL HARRISON, born 1966 in New York, is well-known for her sculptures and installations, which confront their viewers with a “cross-over” of various artistic references and stylistic means: her works are charged with references to popular culture and art history, politics and consumer society. In a critical and humorous fashion Harrison in her works combines objects from everyday life, photographs, magazines, advertisement materials and videos. Recent solo shows include exhibitions at the Migros Museum, Zurich and at the Kunsthalle Nürnberg. Rachel Harrisom is represented by Galerie Christian Nagel, Cologne /Berlin and Greene Naftali, New York.

For „Texte zur Kunst“ Rachel Harrison has conceived an object entitled “Apple Multiple”, 2008, that consists of a piece of artificial fruit (10,5 x 12,7 x 9 cm) and sewing pins. Each object comes with a certificate which is signed and numbered. The work is an edition of 100 + 20 APs. It costs 245,– Euro plus shipping.
